And so the second book begins…

His nostrils flared. The smell of blood, chaos, and death saturated the air.  His heart pumped irregularly, the blood echoing in his ears to the beat of a galloping horse. Disoriented, Eric looked around.  Stains, the color of dirty, sun-baked bricks, dotted the floor and walls like abstract paintings.  What had happened here?
